Busy, Busy, Busy

Summer has finally arrived in Yellowstone, along with all the tourists.  The Park is full of folks.  We've been full at Canyon Campground for the past couple of weeks or so, and I see no end in sight.

Next week will be even busier...for me anyway.  On Tuesday we have our National Park Service inspection of the campground.  This is when a rep from the NPS walks around the campground with my boss and me and notes any items that need attention.  The campground attendants have been working really hard getting all the comfort stations in tip-top shape, and I expect the inspection to go well.

On Wednesday, July 4, I have a managers' meeting at 9:00 am, and then Bill, with my help, will be preparing a Low Country Boil for everyone to celebrate Independence Day.

And after that,  it will be our weekend again.  I love how they keep showing up.

Bill and I have gotten out into the park over the past couple of days.  With the beautiful weather that has settled it, it would be a shame to sit home.

And speaking of beautiful weather...I've been reading so much on-line about the heat wave across America, but we can't complain at all.  Our days have been sunny with clear blue skies, with temps in the upper 70s, and our nights have been in the mid-30s...perfect for sleeping.  See, another reason why we love spending our summers in Yellowstone.

  1. When would you say is the absolute best time to be in Yellowstone? I love it and can't wait to go again. I think I'd like it best when there are not a lot of people visiting. Really enjoy seeing your pictures!

  2. You are definitely in THE most perfect place this summer. Glad to hear there are no fires near you or heat or tornadoes or hurricanes or anything else that seems to be going on everywhere else.

  4. What beautiful pictures. Hard to believe that there is a volcano sitting under all that!. You said Bill was making a Low Country Boil. Wow! A SC dish all the way in WY. Do the locals know what that is? And as I type this I wonder where you have found the ingredients for that up in the mountains. LOL

  5. Your weather sounds perfect. We are sweating out 100+ degrees on Hilton Head Island, SC for the 4th of July week. As beautiful as it is here, I would rather be here in the winter. Thanks for the pictures, beautiful!

  7. I am learning so much from your blog. My husband is interested in work camping, but for now, he has a full-time job which lets us travel and live in the RV. We just can't choose our location.
