Black Friday to Cyber Monday

I have many memories of hitting the shopping malls at 6:00 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving.  My sisters and I would spend Thanksgiving afternoon mapping out our strategy so we could get the best deals.  My how things have changed.  I guess living in a box will do that to you.

I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and have recovered nicely from any food coma.  We finished up our leftovers on Saturday, and anything that remained was thrown in the garbage.

After a few years of prodding from my dear husband, I have finally succumbed.  On Saturday I did something I have never done before.  I ordered my first pair of prescription glasses.  And I'm not getting a bit of sympathy!  Even when I called my sweet mama and whined to her, she simply said, "Cathy, I've been wearing glasses for years.  It's not a big deal."

Basically, I am getting reading glasses.  I've been using "cheaters" that I bought at the drugstore, and I've hated having to put them on and take them off, and just keeping up with them is a pain.  So, once I get my new glasses, I can wear them and have them when I need them.  So, this is a good thing...right???   I mean, when we are driving down the highway, and Bill asks what exit we will be taking, I will no longer look at the atlas and say, "Well, it looks like exit 85, or is that 88, or maybe it's 68?"

So, that was the highlight of our holiday weekend.  Oh, and it looks like I will be starting work once again at Kartchner Caverns State Park on December 1.  Now, we are really getting settled in for the winter.

Get ready for even less sympathy. I've worn glasses or contacts since I was six years old!

We'll be driving past you in a few weeks on our way home to Sun City West, Arizona for Christmas. Enjoy Arizona!
