Just What the Doctor Ordered

I've mentioned in previous posts about how full Yellowstone is and how busy we've been at Fishing Bridge RV Park...and it continues. But, like clockwork, our weekend came around once again.

Bill and I knew we needed to go to Cody to do some shopping to prepare for Christmas in Yellowstone on August 25.  But, we sure hated to give up a weekend of camping, so we did both.   Bill had the great idea to camp between Yellowstone and Cody.  (OK, so we will be smelling of campfire smoke when we go to Walmart...remember, this is Walmart I'm talking about.) There are a number of National Forest campgrounds along the highway, and we chose a nice one!

The campground was almost empty, and we chose a huge site right along the Shoshone River.

There were lots of willows across the river, and we kept an eye out for a moose.  We did see a bald eagle soaring above the river, and we had a deer walk through the campground, but no moose.
Oh well, we still had a great time of doing practically nothing, except for reading, taking a few walks, sitting by the campfire, and simply enjoying the view.

After a week dealing with lots of lots of visitors, it was great being anonymous for a couple of days.  And this afternoon, it starts all over again.

You deserve a weekend away from the maddening crowds of Yellowstone, and combat pay for dealing with them! I don't know how you guys do it, I would go "Postal" dealing with a job like yours! LOL

Labor Day is just a few weeks off, most of the hordes should be going home soon! It will be mainly the "locals" visiting on the weekends then!

Now that's my kind of camping. What a beautiful view and nothing to do but sit and watch the river roll on by. Nice!
